General Admission Procedures

Students aging 4 years or older will be eligible to enter the ENS Dubai Campus based on the school’s approved minimum age requirements in accordance with KHDA. The minimum age for admission to each grade level is as follows:

  • Kindergarten 1 (4 to 5 years)

  • Kindergarten 2 (5 to 6 years)

  • Grade 1 (6 to 7 years)

  • Grade 2 (7 to 8 years)

  • Grade 3 (8 to 9 years)

  • Grade 4 (9 to 10 years)

  • Grade 5 (10 to 11 years)

The student's admission and placement to grade levels will be based on the review of previous school records, age, and the placement assessment results.

* Birth Certificate : Students born outside the country will have to provide an attested birth (Certificate Attestation is not required for documents issued from GCC countries, USA, Canada, Europe, and from Scandinavian countries).

** Learning Difficulty : Applicable copy of any previous learning difficulty diagnostic testing or assessments.

*** Report Card : Report Card from the previous year and if applying for admission in January report card for the first term of the schooling year is required.

Admissions for SEND Students

The ENS Dubai Campus welcomes applications from SEND students and those with specific learning difficulties. Applicants must declare any disabilities or specific learning disabilities at the time of the application to ensure the school can be fully equipped to provide appropriate support. In order for the ENS Dubai Campus to support every student appropriately, students will undergo an admission assessment that is not marked or graded upon entry. To ensure that the school has a better understanding of specific needs and areas for development, a member of the Student Support Team (SST) will become involved once a SEND student is identified during the admissions process. Depending on the students' level of need, the SEND coordinator will arrange a meeting with parents to discuss the next steps in working together to support the student.

Admission procedures for SEND students requiring learning support

ENS will follow the Dubai Inclusive Education Standards to enhance and extend quality inclusive education services for SEND requiring learning support. Admission will be based on the following:

  • Review of previous school records by the school admissions officer, academic counsellor, the appropriate head of school

  • Meeting with the special education specialist/phycologist for clarification and evaluation of the specific needs level.

  • Evaluation, level, categorization, along with adaptation and/or modification to the regular classroom activities plan is submitted to campus principal for final approval.

Admissions for Transfer Students

The ENS Dubai Campus will be in full compliance with the UAE Educational Authorities regulations, and the KHDA (Knowledge Human Development Authority), it is imperative that the registration department receives a Transfer Certificate from students who have attended a previous school in Dubai and abide by the following guidelines:

  • Transfer Certificates must be written in English or Arabic or translated from an authorized typing center.

  • Students transferring from a school within Dubai are required to obtain a Transfer Certificate from their current school which will be attested by the KHDA. This is applicable to all grade levels.

  • If a student’s previous school is located OUTSIDE of Dubai, a Transfer Certificate is mandatory for all students in Grades 2 to 12. A Transfer Certificate is also mandatory if the student intends to enroll in KG1, KG2, and Grade 1 after November 15.

Registration Annual

Once the student has met entrance requirements, a registration and seat reservation fee will be collected that will be used to hold a student's seat until a final decision is made on admission. Upon acceptance of the student, the registration fee will be applied/deducted from the annual tuition fee. If a student is denied admission, all advance fees and payments will be refunded. The registration fee is refundable within one-month of the paid registration if the parent cancels registration or transfers to another school.

The Emirates National Schools (ENS) Dubai Campus is an IB school offering quality education to students from KG1 to Grade 5.

ENS Dubai Campus will open its doors in August 2021 with the intent to eventually offer the full Continuum of IB Programmes over five consecutive years, as students progress through each grade level on the campus. The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) will begin in August 2021 for the initial cohort of students joining the campus from grade levels KG1 (4-5 year-olds) through Grade 5 (8-9 year-olds). In August 2022, the school will add the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) for Years 1 (grade 6) through Year 3 (Grade 8) will be launched, and in consecutive years from 2023 through 2025, a year will be added annually as the cohort moves up through the school to complete the IB Middle Years Programme Year 4 (Grade 9 in 2023) and Year 5 (Grade 10 in 2024). In August 2025, the IB Diploma Programme (DP), and Career-related Programme (CP) will commence for grade 11 students.
