H.E. Ahmed Al Hamiri Makes an Inspection Tour of ENS Campus in Sharjah
The ENS Board of Directors held its periodic meeting in ENS new campus in Sharjah, under the chairmanship of H.E. Ahmed Mohammed Al Hamiri, Secretary General of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, Chairman of ENS, in the presence of a number of the board members and Dr. Kenneth Vedra, Director General of ENS, the central administration team and the campus directors of Abu Dhabi City, Mohammed Bin Zayed City, Al Ain City, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah.
The attendees reviewed the annual plan of ENS, and the ways to enhance its role in the educational system in the UAE. The board members also reviewed the academic credits plans and the achievements made in this regard, and discussed the ways to develop the communication mechanism with parents and their participation in school programs and national, academic and community events in addition to the use of programs adopted by schools to parents that enable them to follow up their children’s educational attainment and development. The Board also discussed the formation of local committees that contribute to improving the educational process and strengthening the ENS academic and national role and the interaction of parents.
His Excellency the chairman, the board members and the managers made an inspection tour of facilities and sections of the new Sharjah campus, in addition to the classrooms to check on the proper work, especially that Sharjah campus has opened at the beginning of the current academic year, and provides education for the primary stage, while the higher stages are expected to open next year.
H.E. Ahmed Mohammed Al Hamiri thanked H.H. Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs, for his continued support to the march of the ENS, and for his keenness to continuously upgrade the academic programs and to highlight the importance of obtaining credits from international educational institutions.
At the end of the tour, His Excellency thanked everyone who contributed to the completion and opening of Sharjah campus on time in the new academic year. His Excellency also thanked the parents for choosing the ENS for their children’s education, and said that the new campus in Sharjah, as well as the campus in Ras Al Khaimah constitute a qualitative addition to the journey of the ENS and the achievement of its objectives aimed at participating effectively in the educational system in the UAE, through the provision of quality education, which takes into account the technical and technological progress, and openness to the cultures, with the consolidation of the national values.
For his part, Dr. Kenneth Vedra, Director General of ENS said that the ENS will continue expanding geographically in the coming years, and will continue to provide accredited educational programs. Dr. Vedra pointed out that the two campuses in Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah are aiming to obtain the license for the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. He explained that the Emirates National Schools adopt the US curriculum based on the common core standards of the US curriculum in all subjects except for the Arabic language, Islamic education and social studies. The ENS uses in its national curriculum standards accredited by the Ministry of Education.
