As a newcomer to the Middle East, I was impressed by the efficiency with which the HR Dept processed my documentation - visas and air tickets were arranged within two weeks of my appointment. I was collected at the airport by friendly HR staff and taken to my apartment, recently renovated and equipped with new appliances. Not only was there a kettle, but someone had been thoughtful enough to provide the basics such as water, fruit, biscuits and even Lipton teabags – something familiar in strange and new surroundings!

I have found the staff at the Musaffah Girls’ School to be pleasant and helpful, and attentive to meeting one’s needs as far as possible. These might range from classroom or IT requirements to disciplinary support, even advice on where to find a good optometrist. Teachers who have lived in the UAE for a while are sympathetic to the plight of new arrivals, and quick to offer support and guidance. These are just some of the things that have helped make the transition to a new culture far more manageable than one had anticipated.

Five months into my first academic year here and I have learnt so much!   I've enjoyed getting to know staff members from other countries and sharing experiences with them.   The girls I teach are very sweet and I'm having enormous fun teaching Drama and English to them.   The facilities are fantastic and the students are very lucky.  I'm looking forward to a lengthy career here.

Teaching at ENS has given me the opportunity to learn more about the unique and wonderful Emirate culture.

At ENS your private life remains just that - private.

ENS is a wonderful place to work. The buildings and resources for the Kg school are amazing. We have a great lady for a Principal! The accommodation in Abu Dhabi is very comfortable and located closed to world-class malls. Abu Dhabi, itself, is a beautiful city with all the comforts and with a bonus; The Beach! I am very glad that I chose ENS.

I have been working at ENS school since the end of August 2008 and am very happy here.  I have found the staff very professional and cooperative. My teaching colleagues are very helpful and we work together well as a team which is beneficial to the students and the staff. The atmosphere is conducive to a good working environment.  The school treats its staff fairly and in a professional manner. I think if the school continues in this way it can only get even better.

If you smile at life, life will smile back at you too.
Same as in life, teaching is what you make of it.

I’ve only been at ENS for a few weeks. The experience thus far has been great. Yes, just like in any school there are many challenges but at ENS it seems that the staff is able to remain united and strive to do what is best for the school.

To date, whatever I have been promised by the school has been fulfilled. When I arrived at ENS, all documents were ready for collection so that the process for my family could be handled immediately. I really appreciated the fact that HR and Mr. Michael assisted with all queries that I had and dealt with the issues so efficiently. It’s sad though that as a South African, I struggled to get my family’s visas. This however is no fault on the school side as they assisted where they could.

The accommodation that the school provides is great. It is centrally located so that one is able to access facilities with ease. What is also wonderful is that new staff members were taken out on a tour of Abu Dhabi the Saturday after arrival. This was good for the new staff members as they could have a guided tour of the city and scout places that fancy them for future shopping pleasures.

I still need to adjust to the working hours as they are so different from South Africa. The early start and late end really makes one exhausted. The long quarters are also a bit of an adjustment. I am glad that transportation is provided by the school to and from your place of residence. This is great because you don’t need to still concentrate on your driving skills after a long working day.

I look forward to a wonderful year ahead and I hope that the experience for other teachers have also been a fruitful one.

I have only been in Abu Dhabi and the Emirates National School for 4 weeks but in that time I have been extremely impressed with many of the conditions of employment. The school is very well resourced. The staff is extremely friendly. The students are eager to learn and eager to please. The facilities are first rate being in modern buildings, fully air conditioned, small classes and a very supportive admin staff. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable and extremely well located – being in the middle of the Central Business District of Abu Dhabi. I have taught for over 35 years and this is working out to be my favorite school in terms of conditions and friendliness of colleagues.

ENS is moving forward - away from the past. Management is trying their best to make the school a pleasant environment to work in. Positive changes have been made already and the atmosphere at school is full of hope for the future.

After an extremely challenging start to the current academic year, I now wake up in the mornings, totally convinced that today will be better then yesterday. ENS in improving all the time. The future is exciting indeed.

It is a pleasure and honor to work in this respectable and precious school. Here, I am given the opportunity to implement my knowledge and develop wonderful experiences with administrators, teachers and students. The most important thing that I have noticed this year in the Girls' School is the cooperative atmosphere among staff, guided by our Principal, Dr. Reem Arikat. This enables us to attain the ENS standards and the goals that are reflected in our mission statement. I am proud to work under this kind of environment, and I'm grateful to the ENS administrators and teachers for all their efforts and their continuous support.
